EMPLOI : Aux E-U, 2.6 mlns d’emplois ont été détruits en 2008, dont 524000 en décembre. Pour janvier 2009, on en est à -600000 et ING anticipe au total au moins 3 mlns de pertes d’emplois. Pour ce qui est de l’Europe, les destructions d’emplois devraient également avoisiner les 3 mlns pour la durée de la crise (c’est le chiffre enregistré lors de la crise de 1993). Or, le gros est encore à venir.
FORTIS : Menace de faillite en haut lieu en cas de vote négatif. Ce matin, G. Ugeux déclarait que stratégiquement le rapprochement avec BNPPARIBAS était une bonne chose mais pas financièrement aux conditions actuelles. La banque française peut-elle et veut-elle rallonger ? Rien n’est moins sûr.
UBS : grosse perte au Q4, entre autres à cause de pertes de trading (même type de scénario que chez DEUTSCHE BANK – Ont-ils tous engagé Kerviel ?).Pour l’ensemble de 2008, la perte s’élève à 20 mrds de CHF (contre 17 mrds attendus).
La production industrielle allemande a chuté de 12% en 12/08 par rapport à 12/07 et en France, ce chiffre était de -11%. Bien sûr l’automobile a une grosse responsabilité à ce niveau mais cela reste très préoccupant. Le VIX (indice de volatilité des actions américaines) est stable à 43.6. L’or est en léger retrait à 894 USD l’once et le pétrole remonte à 45.5 USD.
